So onto some more of our road trip. We had hoped we would get a break in the weather and start to experience some lower temps. But that didn't happen too quickly. But none the less we enjoyed the parts of the world we had seen and were yet to see. We left Paducha Kentucky on Sunday and were driving into Nauvoo that day. It was going to be a pretty easy drive. As we drove towards St. Louis the scenery changed and we were driving now with rock walls on both sides of the highway. The interesting thing about these rock walls were the pine trees that were growing out of the rocks. Well probably the cracks but it was interesting to see non the less. I tried to get Alyse to take a picture but they were gone before we could snap one or two. But I liked them. We drove through St. Louis and I never got a good picture of the Arch.
The kids and I went there a few years back and Alyse said she was okay not seeing it again. The traffic was horrible and we saw 4 or 5 major accidents with in a 10 mins period. Needless to say I was happy to get out of St. Louis. But I will say St. Louis has come very pretty rod iron work that frames the bridges. I know weird. Now most people would take off and head north but we go a little more west into Missouri and drive up along side the state line up to Nauvoo. It is beautiful to look at. It was about this time that I decided that I have a infatuation with barns. I found myself wanting to stop and take pictures. But alas I didn't. But there are some way cool barns between Tallahassee and Iowa! I would love to have an old barn on our property but I don't think we would get a permit for one. :-(
So on we drove. Since we took that back way it would lead us into Hannibal. Now we all know Hannibal is famous for Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher and of course Mark Twain.

I remember you talking so happily about your road trips with YOUR mom when you were young. Glad to see that you are passing this tradition along! You can never spend too much time with your mom... nope, not ever. ;D Unless she bugs you about your hair for the umpteenth time...
It was fun seeing those arch pictures. My son Logan and his wife and family visited that 2 months ago.
