So I had a great mother who taught me how to clean well. She is on my mind quiet often as I clean my house. This morning I decided I needed to tackle our shower and bathroom. Neither of which was a thrilling thought. I hate scum! Let me say that again... I really hate scum. I feel last weekend and tweaked my shoulder and so to stand in the shower and scrub isn't working well. So I lined up all my strong bathroom chemicals and off I went. The shower is now almost done. I will need to rub it down with one coat of lemon oil pledge so it I don't have to repeat the whole process as much. I had wanted to add a picture of shower scum for fun but the ones on the internet are horrible.... wow they needed to be trained by my mom. I'm feeling a whole lot better about my bathroom scum.
I found this interesting little tidbit about shower door scum- Dryer Sheet: You may be surprised to know that the dryer sheets can also be used to clean soap scum. If the shower door is wet, then take a dry dryer sheet and rub it on the dirty areas of the door vigorously to get rid of the soap build up. In case the surface of the shower door is dry, then dampen the dryer sheet and rub it on the door. Both the methods are equally useful to solve the problem.
Now that the shower is done it should all be down hill from here! That is until I open the cupboards under my sink and throw everything out. Drawers be aware you are next. I'm in a haven't used get rid of it mode. Okay put off cleaning the rest of it long enough.

I just want you to know that because I read this earlier yesterday, when my granddaughter Elora came over tonight I asked her to clean my bathtub. Then I had her take everything out of the bathroom cupboards and we had a major "toss out what we are not using." It feels GREAT!
And nope, never heard of the dryer sheet cleaning. I do use dryer sheets to put in a stubborn caked on pan I am soaking. It really helps.
Jill! It does feel great. Last night we moved our bedroom around (okay Bryan and Mike moved the heavy stuff around) and I vacuumed and dusted... oh my we were hording a ton of dust and yuck. I had to dump the vacuum container out twice. Just makes me shutter. But then again apart of me really wants to vacuum to see if anything is left. Oh and I went through my clothes and donated them to a women's group along with all the soaps and shampoos I had brought home with me from hotels. Yes... feeling lighter and lighter these days!
